How to Play Lord of Mysteries CN Open Beta

A practical, official-source-first setup guide for players preparing for China Open Beta while keeping the real overseas access limits clear.

TL;DR

  • If you have a mainland China (+86) mobile number and valid real-name credentials, you can prepare for the China service now. Follow the requirements and launch checklist.
  • If you do not, there is currently no official overseas route into the China service. Track the global release status and subscribe for update notices. The August 21, 2026 China Open Beta does not itself confirm overseas access.
  • A game booster does not change this. It can improve network routing to China-region servers, but it cannot bypass real-name verification, account eligibility, or regional restrictions.

For gameplay basics, see the Beginner Guide. Once you are in and past level 35, the Marionette system guide covers the first major progression system the game opens up.

Which Path Applies to You?

Path A — I meet the CN requirements

You have your own mainland China (+86) mobile number and valid real-name credentials.

Path B — I do not

Open Beta being live does not mean overseas players can join. The Path A steps will not work without China-side credentials, and no game booster or paid service changes that. Here is what is actually available to you:

Connection routing

For players who can already access the CN server

Choose a connection route for the CN server

China-region servers are in China, so direct overseas routes can mean high latency, packet loss, or unstable routing. A game booster may provide a steadier path, but results vary by country, carrier, and time of day.

A game booster can only improve network routing. It cannot bypass real-name verification, account eligibility, or regional restrictions.

CN Requirements and Launch Checklist

Use this only if you meet the China-side requirements above. It is not a workaround for regional, identity, or account restrictions — see access limits and account safety below.

  1. Confirm your own credentials first. Use your own mainland China mobile number and valid real-name credentials, and confirm eligibility before you try to log in rather than after a client download finishes. Do not borrow, rent, or purchase another person’s account or identity.
  2. Find the current official notice. Follow the official Chinese site and the Lord of Mysteries page on TapTap for a current registration or reservation notice.
  3. Apply only through the channel named in that notice. In the Gray Fog Test, only players who received access and signed the confidentiality agreement could log in.
  4. Reserve at least 80 GB of storage. That is the current official China Open Beta configuration figure; the June Gray Fog Test used the same baseline. Installed size can still change with updates, so re-check the official listing before downloading.
  5. For iOS, check the China App Store requirement. A China-region iOS download requires access to the China App Store with a China-region Apple ID. This is a storefront requirement only; this guide does not provide registration or bypass instructions.
  6. Download only from the official link. Use the client link or verified store named in the current notice; the ended Gray Fog Test client is not current access.
  7. Bookmark the Redeem Codes Tracker. Official launch-day codes can change quickly; the tracker adds verified codes when they are published.

As of August 21, 2026: China Open Beta is live, but the official announcements still do not describe a complete overseas eligibility or qualification process. Check the current official notice, not screenshots, group chats, or resellers.

What to Expect in Your First Hours

Based on publicly discussed Gray Fog Test impressions throughout this section; Open Beta may differ.

Early reports point to character creation followed by a choice among six publicly displayed Pathways: Seer, Spectator, Apprentice, Warrior, Bard, and Mystery Pryer. This is not a conventional class picker. The Pathway gives the opening identity frame for combat and role-play, while the fuller progression picture still depends on the live Open Beta build and official post-launch explanations.

The opening loop begins at Sequence 9, where Potions and the Acting Method are presented as more than menu labels. Community discussion around the Gray Fog Test describes using a Pathway identity, potion progression, and role-consistent actions as connected parts of growth. Treat exact values, unlock order, and balance as provisional until official Open Beta documentation confirms them.

Players also discussed the presence of SAN and the risk of Loss of Control as part of the game’s occult-pressure framework. Their precise thresholds and consequences are not safe to infer from test discussion alone, but the systems reinforce that the setting’s supernatural advancement carries risk rather than being a pure damage-stat climb.

Tingen is the expected opening region in the public material, with familiar setting signals including Khoy University and the Tarot Club. These references help establish the adaptation’s novel-world atmosphere, but players should expect the first hours to be a guided game introduction rather than a promise that every novel location or character interaction is available in Open Beta.

Why Most Overseas Players Cannot Join

A phone number alone is not the full requirement. China’s game rules require users to register and log in with real, valid identity information, and game services must not serve users who have not completed that registration. The standard China-side route uses a mainland China Resident Identity Card for verification.

The current Lord of Mysteries announcements do not confirm that a foreign passport, overseas phone number, or another document type is accepted for this test. That means a player without a usable China-side number and compatible identity verification should treat the route as unavailable, not as a puzzle to bypass.

Do not buy an already verified account, use SMS-receiving services, rent an account, or pay someone to complete verification. These offers can violate account terms, carry a real ban or recovery risk, are common payment-scam targets, and can expose both parties’ personal information. This site does not recommend or link to any of these services.

FAQ
Do I need a Chinese phone number to play Lord of Mysteries beta?

For the China-side account and download flow, expect to need a mainland China (+86) mobile number. As of July 11, 2026, the current Lord of Mysteries Open Beta announcement does not publish a separate field-by-field overseas eligibility form.

Can I play the CN beta without a China ID?

China's online-game rules require real, valid identity information for registration and login. A mainland China Resident Identity Card is the standard China-side verification route; the game has not published an official alternative for overseas documents, so do not assume a foreign passport can complete the flow.

Is it safe to buy a verified CN account?

No. Buying a verified account can violate platform or game rules, exposes you to payment scams and personal-data risk, and can leave the account unavailable after a verification or ownership check.

When can overseas players play?

China Open Beta went live on August 21, 2026, but that does not confirm overseas access. Follow the release-date tracker and official global channels for a separate global or regional announcement.

Can I play Lord of Mysteries in English?

China Open Beta is a Chinese-client release. Official English channels exist, but final in-game English interface, subtitles, voice, and server-language support have not been confirmed. See /faq/#english-language for the current language status.

Do I need a Chinese Apple ID for the iOS version?

For a China-region iOS download, expect to need access to the China App Store with a China-region Apple ID. This guide only states the storefront requirement and does not provide account-creation or region-bypass instructions.

How big is the Lord of Mysteries download?

Reserve at least 80 GB. The official China Open Beta configuration listing asks for at least 80 GB of free PC storage, and the June Gray Fog Test used the same baseline. Installed size can still change with updates.

What should I do on August 21 if I can't join?

Wait for a separately confirmed global or regional announcement, subscribe for updates, and check /codes/ for official launch-day redeem codes. Do not use account sellers, rented identities, or unofficial packages as substitutes.
