Short Answer

The first Lord of Mysteries (LOTM) live Pathway rankings are available below. They separate PvE, PvP, party value, learning difficulty, and free-to-play friendliness, and remain provisional while launch evidence develops.

Confirmed vs. Unconfirmed

Confirmed

  • The table below is an early launch snapshot based on identified CN-server observations and community evidence, not an official publisher ranking.
  • The official Chinese material presents Pathways, Sequences, Potions, and the Acting Method as core progression concepts.
  • The Chinese official homepage currently displays Seer, Spectator, Apprentice, Warrior, Bard, and Mystery Pryer as Pathway/profession showcases.
  • Gray Fog Test is complete historical test context, not proof of China Open Beta balance, progression, or PVP performance.

Still unconfirmed

  • How early launch balance will settle as more players reach later progression and coordinated content.
  • How future skill, equipment, encounter, matchmaking, and balance changes will move mode-specific results.
  • Whether future global services will use the same balance and release schedule as China Open Beta.

Pre-launch impressions are not final rankings. A Pathway that looked comfortable in a limited test can change with launch skills, equipment, encounter design, matchmaking, and balance patches.

For a source-backed overview of the Pathway framework and the six official profession displays, use the Pathways guide rather than treating an unverified class ranking as a build recommendation.

Current Launch Tier List

The table below ranks the six Pathways open in China Open Beta across PvE, PvP, party value, learning difficulty and free-to-play friendliness. It is a provisional snapshot written from play on the live service, not an official publisher ranking, and it will be revised when balance patches or clearer live evidence move a Pathway's role.

If you want the reasoning behind each placement rather than the columns, the full write-up is linked below.

Evidence note. These are assessments written from play on the live China service since Open Beta opened on August 21, 2026, not an official publisher ranking. Balance patches will move them, and the page says where a rating is a judgement rather than a measured figure.

PathwayTierPvEPvPTeam valueDifficultyF2P friendlyNote
Mystery Pryer (Hermit) T0 Best in class Average Always wanted Low Yes The widest area damage of any open Pathway, so material farming is fastest here. Tracking and a shield make survival easier than the ranged frame suggests, and seeing through stealth is close to mandatory in harder dungeons. No movement skill: once something reaches you, you take it.
Warrior (Twilight Giant) T1 Frontline Average Irreplaceable Lowest Yes Block and taunt give the highest margin for error of any Pathway. Without a Warrior holding damage the party's damage window collapses. Also the only Pathway that breaks terrain to reach hidden objects. Slow attack speed makes mobile ranged enemies genuinely annoying.
Bard (Sun) T1 Strong Best in class Damage buffs High Moderate Enough super-armour to push through a burst window and delete a squishy target. Party buffs mean a Bard raises the whole group's damage, so it is half a support in practice. But you have to be in melee without a tank's durability, and solo boss fights are slow.
Seer (Fool) T2 Adequate Adequate Adequate Moderate Yes Ranged caster with illusions for safety and trap warnings for exploration, and solid solo play. It does everything and leads at nothing: less area damage than Mystery Pryer, less burst than Bard, less durability than Warrior, less support than Spectator. Comfortable for story play, unremarkable if you are chasing power.
Apprentice (Door) T2 Weak High ceiling Low Highest No The most mobile Pathway in the game: through walls, ignoring terrain, opening from anywhere. Highest single-target burst and the highest skill ceiling for repositioning. Also the thinnest, with no reliable damage reduction, and short on area damage so clearing packs is slow. Veterans only.
Spectator (Visionary) T3 solo / T0 in a fixed party Depends on party Weak Highest Moderate No A true healer: healing, shields and cleanse in one kit, and hard dungeons are close to impossible without one. Personal damage is near zero, so solo levelling is painful, and in a random party your work is wasted on players who die anyway. This Pathway's rating is a question about your group, not about the kit.

The Full Analysis

Every placement here is argued in detail in the Pathway tier list guide: what each Pathway is actually best at, the weakness that keeps it off the top, and which one to pick for the activity you care about. The Spectator entry in particular needs the explanation, because its rating swings from T3 to T0 depending on whether you have a fixed party.

How These Ratings Are Made

The columns are kept separate rather than collapsed into one number. PvE considers consistent encounter contribution, survival, target access, and how much a Pathway depends on specific gear or group support. PvP considers objective pressure, mobility, crowd-control exposure, matchup reliability, and whether a result survives outside coordinated play.

Party value is not reduced to raw damage: support, healing, protection, control, debuffs, recovery tools, and the ability to help a group clear repeatable content all count. Difficulty separates a Pathway that is approachable from one that only becomes strong with demanding execution, resource management, positioning, or a specialised group.

Read the table by activity instead of treating one overall tier as universal, and do not buy accounts, paid meta builds, or claimed guaranteed rankings.

FAQ

Is there a Lord of Mysteries tier list yet?

Yes. The first provisional live-data tier list is published on this page and will be revised as stronger CN-server evidence and official balance changes emerge.

When will the tier list be updated?

The ranking is revised when official balance changes or reliable live-server evidence changes a Pathway's result in a specific mode.

Which Pathway is best for beginners?

Use the table's learning-difficulty, team-value, and mode-specific columns rather than treating one overall tier as a universal beginner answer.
